Biography
Sean Tyler is a muralist, fiber, and mixed media artist from Tulsa Oklahoma. Tyler graduated with her BFA in studio art from Rogers State University in 2019, MA in painting at the University of Iowa in 2022 and MFA in Painting/Drawing in 2023. Tyler has shown work across the United States and has murals installed in Iowa and Oklahoma. Tyler has created murals for municipal bodies, as well as private clients and mural festivals.

2024- present: Adjunct Faculty Tulsa Community College
As a member of the adjunct faculty of the School of Visual and Performing arts I teach studio art courses along with art history.
2020-2023: Teaching Assistant and Instructor of Record University of Iowa
As a teaching assistant and Instructor of record for Elements of Art and Basic Drawing, I am responsible for primary instruction of both general education courses and major specific foundational courses. I have selected, designed, and implemented projects to fulfill departmental goals.
2020-2023: Graduate Writing Tutor University of Iowa Writing Center
As a graduate writing tutor, I review papers from all departments and levels of instruction. As a tutor I help writers make corrections while simultaneously improving their writing skills. I have helped with all types of papers including dissertations, research reports, journal articles, and personal statements.
2016-2019- Rogers State University Writing Tutor
I tutored students across major, department, and course level. Lead writing critique groups sessions, worked one-on-one with undergraduate and graduate students. Tutors were responsible for reading for clarity of argument, writing mechanics, and adherence to ethical writing standards.
2019-2020 Living Arts, New Arts Camp and New Arts Foundation
I taught advanced high school art at the Living Arts gallery. I taught students technical and theoretical art principles across media and disciplines. I was responsible for organizing and curating a student gallery show at completion of program.
2015- Present Freelance Art Instructor
Taught workshops and private lessons to a variety of groups including Girl Scouts of America Troops and individuals. Taught painting, drawing, weaving ect. Worked with both groups and individuals.
